16- Derby-Darby Days

The AFL should look at a whole weekend of derbys.
They go close this weekend with 4 scheduled.
- The Western derby: West Coast vs Fremantle.
- The Sydney derby (the poorly named 'Battle of the Bridge'): Sydney vs GWS.
- The oldest football match-up, the "original derby"?: Melbourne vs Geelong.
- The Saltwater River derby: Western Bulldogs vs Essendon.

Why does the AFL not promote such local derbies? Why only the same-old, same-old Carlton v Collingwood v Essendon games?

The closest game of the weekend is the Western Derby-Darby... only 4 points tipped as the Fremantle winning margin

Geelong and Sydney look to have the 'lock' wins for the week, as we tip them by 14 and 15 goals respectively.

Richmond's form leadership as mentioned last week comes crashing back to reality, and Port Adelaide now take over that mantle. Can they cause an upset and defeat Hawthorn at home? The Mezzoculo Index gives that scenario a chance.
And of interest, the above is the closest form-grouping of all teams for the year.
Port Adelaide also return to 'best past form' leadership with the lowest form indicator of the year at +63.
