01b - Back For Redemption?

Now to the second part of Round 1 this weekend, and a time for us to gain redemption on the tipping front. Currently, like most pundits (*read as the majority), we sit at 0 correct from 4 played, and look to come home with a wet sail this weekend.

To finish the season round one opening weekend that is 2 weeks long, the last 5 games are here, as well as all over the country.

North Melbourne and Essendon to be the close one this week, and barring any last minute "Player 'X' did drug 'H'..." accusations to inspire the Dons, we see North winning by 4 goals.
Are we right about the Saints / Demons game? Plenty of people tipping St Kilda for the Spoon, but those injuries at the Demons... Hmmmm.

The Mezzoculo Index* for past-form and predicted-future looks a little like this.

We are considering the position (higher or lower) to be the each teams form, but these are based on end 2013 season figures. From this, we see The Bulldogs likely to upset the Eagles, which goes against our tip earlier... will be interesting to watch.

* A teams position on the rungs above indicates how they have gone in the last 5 weeks... if a team is higher on the scale, its been on fire. If a team is at the bottom, they have cooled off and lacking form.
The size of the team marker indicates how we think they will run for the next 3 games... the bigger the marker, the more likely to win. Named after the blog commenter that suggested it.

  1. Great blog guys, Is there a link to the formulation of the Mezzoculo Indiex? I get the previous stuff but some clarification ont he upcoming three would be great!

    Thanks :)

    1. 'Form' (Higher / lower on the chart) is from the last 5 games, and determined from the nett movement in those 5 games - ranking improved = up, ranking down = down.

The size of the circle indicates how we think they will run for the next 3 games. Based on looking at rankings points of team vs opponents and possibility of a win.

      Hope that helps.
