Plenty of people advocating it. Usually those compromised by what they can get out of it... more revenue, more things to read and write about. More eyes on advertisers.
No one actually explaining clearly how it will work, why it is needed, what are the advantages, what side-effects have been forseen. Etc etc etc.
No one is even talking about the mechanism for how the bottom 6, who will fight for draft pick positions, will be achieved.
How will draft picks be allotted? By being the best of the six?
Do they really think Carlton with an appalling record (1 win, 15 losses, 60.9%) will suddenly, in the depths of a cold wet winter, at the back end of a demoralising previous 16 games, suddenly spring forth and defeat teams above them?
Stop the idea now.

Also, ditto for zones. Please!

A bit of trumpet blowing because I missed the opportunity earlier in the season.

Good tipping isn't just about getting the odd 9 here or there, but getting a decent enough score every week. Maybe.
Round seventeen, five correct. That is the end of that debate.
Its OK folks, nothing to see here... just Brisbane leaping 3 spots and about to breach 1000 pts. The seasons good news story.
The Week AheadApart from more boorish people banging on about the rule-change du jour, we have some footy to play. And a few close ones have been predicted as well, with 4 games under 15 points.
But yeah, lets 'fix' footy.

I wrote last year about what a terrible idea 17-5 is. https://t.co/pTHDYOOg3F— Adrian Polykandrites (@Adrian_Poly) July 17, 2018
I wish I had the time to write a piece that neatly skewers the 17-5 thing a well as this.
